Heids on the Daily...Traveling with FOOD!
Well here we go, sitting at the airport.......AGAIN, going on a work trip. I am beyond lucky to have a job that let's me travel, learn, and see some really amazing things. YET, it is really hard to keep up with eating healthy, and having the same lifestyle I have at home. A huge factor of me doing the Slim Down is: last month I was home for about a total of 7 days, and with starting a new job it is hard to keep your routine, and I just lost a lot of "me" and gained some poundage. Personally, it is important for ME to keep my body active, fueled with clean foods (for the most part, I do devour some amazingly bad for you foods too). It keeps my mind clear, my energy up, and I am less crabby ;) - that's a you're welcome to mankind - haha!
Enough of the jibber jabber... This trip is short, and I figured why not pack all my food, be that cray cray human that has an insulated bag running through the airport. SIDE NOTE: I have asked hotels to provide me with a mini fridge, and I do go to Whole Foods, Sprouts, or Trader Joes to get some of my "normal foods" when I travel just to makes sure I am getting enough leafy greens, and such. SOMETIMES (Like in Europe) this is super hard, it's like you time travel to another portal and life is just sucked out of you and you don't really want to go find the damn salad...even though in London I did find this BOMBBBB spot I'll post about later.
But yes, pack some of your go-to's that are easy to travel with: KIND bars, Perfect Bars (if you're taking ice packs), raw nuts, Hummus, veggies...tis super easy. I was told that if your ice packs are completely frozen TSA does let you take them through, which I did today!
Here is what I am traveling with today (some of the stuff is pictured):
- 8 meal prepped boxes: snacks and meals
- extra raw veggies (carrots, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, cauliflower, cucumbers)
- 1 full avocado
- 3 limes (flavor for my plain greens)
- Hummus packs
- a butt load of leafy greens..pretty sure it's like a full box
Cheers to y'all who travel with food like I do!! For those who do not travel a lot, this still works for people on the go, and it is super easy once you get the hang of it!!
